For those of you who may be new, WJST Jet Set Radio was concieved and planned in the spring and summer months of 2018. The station founder and program director Chris 'Richards' Cromwell, wanted to give a strong call back to the loving and caring service of the early Jet Set Era; due to many abuses recently of flight crews and passengers.

"I wanted to create a radio station format far different than anyone else out there, using media that's rarely used or considered", Chris says. "I already amassed a huge collection of Easy Listening Reel To Reel Tapes, but especially popular music Reel Tapes from a historic carrier AA; the passengers actually listened to long ago.". "So in the evening hours of November 30th, 2018, I signed up with Live365, and aired the first song from Astrud Gilberto "Fly Me Non Stop To Brazil". Chris continues, "I shortly after created radio theater segments of an everyday leisurely relaxing flight aboard the Boeing 707 or 747. The Jet Set Plane, and The Jet Set Lounge can look like anything your imagination desires! You just need to relax in our flying arm chairs, put on your stereo headphones, and prepare to take off with the most beautiful stereo music you have ever heard! Brought to you by the completely restored Teac X-1000R I rebuilt myself, to bring out the very best in 50-70+ year old Reel Tapes!"
